Posts: 64 | My first Skie through the ice! Tried a new technique today, and it paid off big time! This fish was out of the water mabey 45 sec. and took off like a bullet on the release! Going to try to repeat this pattern this week and will post again soon..... hopefully! Attachments ---------------- 0003_4.JPG (62KB - 208 downloads) 0004_4.JPG (65KB - 187 downloads)

Posts: 76 | Nice fish. Mind sharing the technique? I'v caught a couple tiger musky through the ice on smelt rigs under tip-ups. Granted they were pretty small. Probably around 5lbs.

Posts: 64 | Thanks guys! the markings are top notch, but I've seen Tigers pushing 50 in this lake, and if I stick one I will definatly get a rep!

its too bad the state does not stock a few lakes with tigers anymore. there are a few private lakes with very good fish in them. i cant see why the state could not provide similar fisheries, or add them to lakes that currently have naturals in them.

That's one of the nicest hybrid pictures I've ever seen. Especially in the middle of winter. Good job.

Posts: 507 | *as written in the March 2007 Fox River Valley Muskies, Inc. "News Cast" Some anglers are still managing to wet their lines for muskies this winter. Take a look at this beautiful hybrid, caught and released by club member Lance Zimmerman on Crystal Lake on January 24th! Kind of an interesting technique, too. Normally, a dead sucker is the last thing a muskie fisherman wants to see, but in this case....fishing a dead sucker in deep water was the ticket. This 41" tiger came in 20ft. of water off a deep break. Describing the release, Lance wrote "this fish was out of water maybe 45 seconds....and took off like a bullet!". Good job Lance, keep'em comin!
