Hey everyone, Hope all is well. Not trying to show off just got some cabin fever going!!!!!!!!!!!! LOL

I really like doing the natural looking baits but I wanted to try something different. I bit crazy to break up the olives and browns! Went to the hobby store and got some bright colors. I really enjoyed it!

John

Thanks everybody, I am starting to hit the wall a bit. I always do this with everything I get into. All or nothing! My first walleye tourney in 30 days!!!!!!!!! I have got cabin fever big time!

I want to try some smaller 6" type cranks in colors like these. These are 9" and 10' bodies. I picked up a bunch of really bright colors. I want to try some others. They gave me a second wind.

Thanks again
John

Maybe 50 degrees in the next couple of days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Big perc, Thanks for your interest. To tell you the truth I have been working on a website. I get going on it and start to get scared. I realize when I cross that line it all changes. I have been posting pictures to convince myself that I can so this. That people really want to pay money for my baits. Not trying to sound wishy washy. I am afraid that I won't be able to keep up with orders that I might get. If I do this the customers will come first. I am a fishaholic also. I really like my free time.

I have talked to Snaxs several times about what I should do. A super BIG help!

I have talked to Chico and asked his thoughts about how Joe (true glide) does it.

I like how Novak does it. He makes what he wants to and then sells them.

I guess there are ways to still be creative with new styles and keep pushing the envelope. I work at a custom cabinet shop and I never make the same thing twice. I love that part. I have alot of trouble doing repetitive work. It is really hard for me to do.

I have talked to Fatfingers who in my opinion is the top foil guys around. He has still keeps it fun. He gives most of his lures away to his friends. He could get good money for his. He hasn't crossed that line. I have asked him how Jed does it also.

I don't know if I only limit it to "x" amount to keep a balance. I have no clue what to charge. I start to feel guilty when I think of prices. Do I wait a year and fish them hard to be 100% confident on running them through the ringers. Do I get some baits out to guys in the field and get feed back? Do I offer only half a dozen only so I don't get overwelmed? My head is spinning! I lay awake and ponder this. I end up in the basement and make half a dozen or so and it relaxes me again. I am not trying to tease you guys. It my seem that way. I just don't know what to do. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I am suprised on the responce to the blue one. I had another blue one also I thought I would attach also.

Thanks
John

Great questions my friend! As you know, I've been through all of what you're stressing about myself as have most of the guys who sell their baits. I definitely suggest getting at least a few of them out to some reputable field testers who will give you honest feedback and not just be kind to spare your feelings. If something isn't quite right, now is the time to correct it.
I'd be very happy to do some testing on any of your baits John, then I'll send them back with notes if there's any suggestions needed. Your skill in painting and finishing them is certainly on par with the very best but you don't want to stress over them not running properly once people start sending in their money.

Give me a call before 8:00 tonight and we can chat about stuff. Later bud.

Tigger,
Your baits are beautiful, but you must test them, and probably also have a few tested musky people. You want them just right, always easier to do this now then to make mistake on "action" of baits.
You have a gift. Good luck, Pikie

Your lures look sweet, but your going to probably want some testers because if you sell someone a lure and it has a small error they are going to want to return it or just let it sit in the box and never get used so your going to want to get your lures perfected before you go into retail. Also these field testers will get you pics of muskies caught on your lures which helps with advertisement. Best of luck in the bait building business man!
