| I WANT TO MAKE A JOINTED BAIT. THE BAITS I USUALLY MAKE MIMIC CRANES WITH A LITTLE BIT LARGER PROFILE AND TYPICALLY A WIDER WOBLE. I PUT THROUGH WIRE IN MY STRAIGHT MODEL BUT CAN FIGURE OUT A GOOD METHOD FOR THIS WITH A JOINTED. I ORIGINALLY TRIED WITH SPLIT RINGS ATTATCHED TO A EXTRA HOOK HANGER BUT THIS GOT TOO BULKY AND HEAVY. HOW DO SOME OF YOU DO YOUR JOINTED BAITS? |

Location: Richland Center, WI. | I make jointed baits by connecting .092 open eye hook hanger to a closed eye hook hanger. I have used through wire before and using round nose pliers looped the second wire through the first, slid the back half of the lure on the wire and then made the loop at the end of the second half of the wire with the pliers. It is no fun to twist the wire this way and try to get it to look good. I used .072 wire to do this. |

| This lure is through wired. You have to be really careful when twisting the loop for the front half if you do iat after the paint has been applied Like I do. I tape off the back so it doesn't get scratched if I slip. The back half I use make a bigger hole so I can bring the loop back as far as I want.
