If it's for a muskie lure packaging really dosen't make a difference in my opinion..Just look at any muskie shop barely any of the lures are packaged. The lure will speak for itself.

Got the dimensions you would want? I have looked for pakaging for an 11 inch double bladed bucktail I may be making soon. I have no problem sharing my findings. You will find soon it is expensive or the minimums are high. The key is to find what is currently being made for something else and then finding out who make that package.

Unless you have a reason for packaging, don't do it! you are eating up profit, and a handmade lure looks alot better than a factory one if it isn't in a package. That way people can play with it and look it over. If it is an issue of wanting your name on it, get stickers made for the blades, its cheaper.

I agree packaging just adds unneeded expense to a bait.

Packaging is WAY expensive. I have looked into tubes and here are the prices from Uline. Great place, it sells a lot of stuff for shipping and packaging. BUT as you can see, it will add some $$$ to your final product COGS.

If you ahve to have packaging you could also use heavy duty shrink wrap and have card stock printed up. Place you bucktail on the carstock, seal both ends and then shrink wrap it. I have done this and it looks preaty good but, you need to get the heavy duty shrink wrap! Otherwise your hooks will bust through. You would also need the plastic hook hangers. Uline sells those too. Just stick them to the back of the packaging once you are done. This will still add about $1 to your COGS (cost of goods sold).
