| Here is my set when I fish suspendos deep. Run two flat lines (often with planer boards), two down riggers and two stacker lines.
This is the same set up I use on Lake Michigan but last year I used it and had good success with it on inland waters. Great way to cover some depth zones and area to find aggressive fish.

| Some great baits that work well for this type of presentation. The trick is to let the down rigger ball put more action into your baits as you S turn a breakline. |

| What no comments from Slamr....I thought he would be all over me with this trolling set up. |

| Just saw the post there....just a note to all those that look at the pic, those are NOT 20' long rods, they just look that long being that Jason is about 4" too tall to qualify legally as a dwarf. Jason, Jenkins and Herbeck all get out of a boat at once, the boat is then classifed as a "clown boat".

| Slamr....how very rude of you. I find Jason to be of at least average height....maybe even a little on the tall side.

| DocEsox,
If you think he stands of normal height.....then you must be a dwarf midget. When you end the military career, you can always model the figurines on trophies, and be to scale.

| slamr, got out on the wrong side of the bed??? Some nasty replies.
I like to troll over certain stretches of water but I never fish deeper than 4.5m - 5m (15-17feet deep) for pike. I see no point in doing that. Pike, and musky, have their eyes positioned on top of the head so they can't look down and the chances of a pike going down to grab a lures are minimal. I use a 270cm long rod for trolling because Ican easily react to sudden depth changes or to better follow the drop-offs and the weedlines/shorelines (when there is deep water close in). |

| Nah, Slmr didn't get out of the wrong side of the bed....just poking fun at some guys he knows.....When these guys hold 40 inchers they look like at least 45's! Not a bad problem to have. Of course Smith always takes one phone book along in his boat so he can see over the console!
See slm I am on your side at times![]

| Divani,
At least I didn't use my usual jokes like: "DocEsox, your daughter still moan my name at night?" or "Jason, how you gonna feel when your kid comes out looking strangley Jewish, like ME?". See, I could have been mean, this time I was just being....honest I guess.
Slamr
*trying to think of rips on Europeans for you Divani, but at this point everything I can think of is REALLY mean, don't want another UN Tibunal to be centered around me. |

|
| Slamr I am going to take you trolling this year....for eight hours non stop.
And by the way.. I hope my child comes out jewish.. at least I would have a family accountant then. |
|

|
| 8 hours of trolling actually sounds good....I say we chase salmon on the big lake, and make our way down to the harbors near downtown (that being the true downtown, which is, dare i say, Chicago) should be some good scenery. But are you sure you can endure 8 hours of having me yap and yap and yap at you? At least when I cast I think about what I'm doing...being that I find it hard to multi-task, I have to stop talking for at least a moment or two when I cast, or I have a tendency to go swimming.
Slamr
*what is the ransom payment on my boots? will send email materials for early payment. can i get a sign of life on the well-being of my footwear by any chance? and NO, that doesn't mean selling them at the next Ashton Auction!!! |

|
| As a matter of fact my daughter did scream out your name the other night....it was immediately followed by automatic weapons fire and hysterical laughter.....you must have had your pants down in the dream.
As for my height, and Jason's too, we have the good grace so not increase the displacement in the boat when fishing so hippos like you don't sink us!!
What was this thread about??????
