| What’s the pattern for muskies on the Chip. I’m heading up this weekend and could use a pointer or two. I have the pike pattern pretty well figured out, am I close?
[:halo:] Thanks |

| With the sustained hot weather we've been having, the daytime bite is tough on the Chip. Not only do the fish not want to co-operate, it's tough to fish in 90+ degree temps and high humidity.
Evening action has been decent. I'm sure the early morning action is good, I just can't fish both early and late.
Muskies have been using the weeds mainly. Top waters and bucktails have been best, but we're seeing some fish on Suicks.
I've never done great in areas where I'm catching a lot of little pike. I guess the pike are not interested in hitting if a musky is on the prowl. But even the best areas that are holding multiple muskies may have a pike or two.
Hot surface baits have been the Top Raider and Hawg Wobbler. Best bucktail colors are black/orange and black/brass.
The hot spell seems to have broken today. I hope it will help the fishing. I know it will help me!
Good Fishing,
Dave Dorazio

| Thanks a lot Dave. I’m very appreciative. I know what you mean about either fishing late or early. What time would you say is late enough? When do you come off the water? Has there been any musky action in front of the bog that’s partially blocking second pass now? Thanks again. |
