Random quote: "Either I can smell muskies or there really was something different about the water behind my lure. I don’t know what it was. I didn’t see a fish, just something was different." -Bill Gardner

Subject: West Virginia MI Chapter 9 Annual Meeting

Location: Athens, Ohio
I'll post this for anyone interested in attending or dontaing items for our auction that benefits the chapter:

The officers of the West Virginia Chapter 09 of Muskies, Inc. announce the 2007 Annual Business Meeting and Awards Dinner to be held Saturday February 10, 2007. The meeting will again be held in the Vienna Community Building located within the confines of Jackson Park in Vienna, WV.

This years celebration will include the Business Meeting, Program and 2006 Awards Presentations; as well as featuring a free meal provided by the membership. Many other activities such as raffles and the ever popular lure auction will highlight the evening. If you have attended in the past, you will recall that a good time was had by all. If this is your first time to attend, come prepared for a fun day. Feel free to bring interested guests with you.

The business meeting will again be held in the afternoon with dinner and the awards program following in the evening. This allows us a more relaxed atmosphere for each. Please plan to attend all sessions, your presence and input are greatly needed and appreciated. Plan to take advantage of the noon to 2:00 p.m. session to renew old acquaintances and meet new friends. This is also a good opportunity to purchase some of those hard to find WV muskie baits, purchase raffle tickets on some great prizes and swap some stories. Several baitmakers are planning to attend this year.

Agenda will include, but not be limited to:

12:00 noon to 2:00 p.m. Doors open. Time for fellowship

2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. Business Meeting

3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. WV DNR Update and Presentation

4:30 p.m. Dinner

5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. Program

6:00 p.m. Presentation of 2006 Chapter Awards

6:30 p.m. Lure Auction, Raffles, etc.

Our speaker this year will be Dr. Steve Feaster. Steve is a Charter member of our Chapter who resides in Huntington. He has fished throughout the muskie range; but in recent years has concentrated on the big fish waters of Eagle Lake in Ontario, Canada. Always successful wherever he fished, this year he had an exceptional trip which most only dream of. He will share tips and tactics which resulted in the trip of a lifetime.

We will also have representatives of the West Virginia Division of Natural Resources attending who will update us on the current status of the WV muskie fishery as well as answer any questions we have.

As in the past, the club will provide dinner. Cold drinks and coffee, as well as table service, will be provided. Those traveling from a distance may help by providing pot-luck desserts to top off the meal.

WE NEED YOU TO HELP ALSO BY:

Contacting or visiting local bait makers / dealers / bait shops in your area for donations to the club for door prizes and raffles. Any gear or equipment, etc. is welcomed. Please let me know in advance, if possible, what you will be able to provide. Please make a note of name, address and contact of each. I send a certificate of appreciation to each after the meeting.
Remember to clean out your tackle boxes and bring lures or equipment for donation to our lure auction. This is always a fun activity and a major fund raiser for the year.
A limited number of tables will be available on a first-come, first serve basis for bait-makers, etc. to display their wares for sale (Limit 1 table per vendor).

We are striving each year to make the Annual Meeting more enjoyable for you, we hope you will respond by attending and having some fun. We charge nothing to get in and provide the meal free, we hope you help by participating in our raffles and fundraisers. If you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to contact me. For newcomers, directions and map are attached.
