| Looking for some info on amount and placement of lead in twitch baits. My first attempt is to duplicate a 9" Big Game. When comparing the way my basement version sits in the water next to a store bought Big Game, I noticed that the Big Game appears to have some weight in it to control boyancy. Unfortunately I had already painted my lure and need to be careful with how I place lead in a nearly finished bait. Any info would be much appreciated.Thanks,Pete |

Location: Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan | pretty tough to add the weight now without tearing up the bait....try this....carefully drill a hole just in front of the front hook hanger with a 1/4" forstner bit. Add your lead keeping in mind a fairly low center of gravity. Cover the hole with Devcon 5 min. epoxy making sure to get it as level as possible. Repaint your belly color and then top coat. If you are real careful you can get it to look half way decent.

| Haven't applied the top coat yet so doing as you describe should not be too much of a problem. Thanks for the info.

| this may be off the mark, but I fine tune weighted-to-suspend cranks by wrapping hook shanks with lead "thread" and then give the lead a few coats of red nail polish. |
