| It's funny yesterday I was paging through EA magazine at work(don't tell my boss) and saw the add for the Rumbler and thought it was a neat looking bait( I am a sucker for topwater). Then I went on to read Dick Pearsons article where he mentions the use of the rumbler with great success this past summer. Now Dougj mentions this bait online saying it is a good one. I guess I will be standing in line with the rest of the muskie folk at the shows to get my hands on a Rumbler.

| We at Smoker Tackle have been getting many request for a deeper SS Shad.Well we finally dialed it in over the summer and it will be introduced at the tri esox show.Also we will have a very limited run of Squirlley SS Shads that have even more wobble and a little slower rise than the original.Check out Thorne Bros and Rollies for customs.

| I am no D.J., but I was fortunate enough to be one of a few anglers to try the Rumbler prototypes. I have to say it will be a must have bait ! My prototypes caught fish.........the new look that will be at the show will catch fishermen.AWESOME! There will be alot of "Rumbling" in 07'.....mark my word.

| The sample 12" Flying Witch that Rollie & Helen's received was loaned out to a few anglers to test. It caught fish, looked great in the water and came back in good enough shape to be used for the catalog photo. |

Location: Wishin I Was Fishin' | I am posting this because I don't think Roger of H2O Tackle would be bold enough and you have to see some of his new innovations.
The first is his newest called a Mutant Toad, a very well built slap tail. He has it dialed since he figured out how to make it wiggle. I wanted him to call it a 3 Legged Toad.
The second is an 8" Recon, a zig zag top water. The unique feature is he makes it with a weight set insert in the nose so the action can be changed to accomodate the mood of the musky.
For those of you not familiar with Rogers baits, they are of utmost quality and extreme strength and durability. He started using a new extra tough coating this year.
Both of these could easily become the must have bait for 07'. At this point, they are only available as custom order baits. His non custom line-up is available at Pete's Sportman in Appleton. He is also talking about going to the Blain show, getting some to the Chicago show in Rollie's booth I think, and he will be at the Musky Magic show in New London, WI.

It's kind of a beefed-up version of the 8" Kilr Eel, sort of in between the 13" and 8" models. Three hooks which is nice, too. I believe there was an ad for it in the latest MHM, you can see a pic of it there. |

Location: midwest | The flying witch has the bulk of the giant witch in a shorter version with a totally different action. It has a swimming motion unlike anything I've ever seen, combined with the ability to glide out at the end of a pull. It has through wire constuction similar to previous models and three hooks like the larger giant witch. If you get a chance take a look at one during the pool demos at the show and you will probably end up owning a few. |

Location: north central wisconsin | Hopefully they filled a size nitche with the Rumber, that is a bit different than the Topraider. Hope it is not the same exact size, as it would be a great marketing decision to make it a hair bigger than the standard Topraider(I'd surely buy one...and more if it produced).
I too, cannot say enough about Rogers lures, and the fact that he keeps coming up with interesting nuances of favorites. I have a prototype of a (somewhat)roundnosed glider, and after getting the weighting right, the thing rocked. Hope to see a few more of them for 07 too.
Glad to hear that a deeper SS is on the way. Love the regular ones, and would like to see just what Smokey mentioned.
Any word on a larger Jerko? |

Location: WI | I find it hard to toss anything but Rogers baits from H20 Tackle anymore, he makes one that covers pretty much everything I like to do. His baits alone have accounted for 153 fish in the last 3 seasons for myself/clients. And could have been better if I would learn to not take them off to try something else in an effort to keep the fish honest.
His prototype flaptail (mutant toad) was awesome this past year, on the days when all you could muster were lazy follows, I would toss the flaptail on and it would get smoked at some point. In a year I had more rear treble hooked fish than I can ever remember, costing me several fish, I cant remember loosing a fish on his flaptail. Had to cut the hooks out more times than not. Fish got really angry towards that lure. Not a lure you would typically want to cover alot of water with, but there were a few days last year when thats all I would throw. And normally the only thing I hate more than topwater, is slow moving topwaters, not anymore! |

Location: WI | Zach I love what the ripper does also, gets down DEEP, and its super slow death rise, I only had one issue with it, when I would get a fish following I would let it go into the death rise which is usually a deal sealer, except on the Ripper, it was really starting to irk me they would just stare at it, so I stopped fishing it as much as would have liked to, untill this year when I started tossing it a bit more again, and I think I figured it out. If you watch it on the rise, it rises ever so slightly tail up. So I got to thinking could this be it? since I have never seen a fish swim slightly tail up before, maybe that is what had the fish staring more than eating.
But that is why I love Roger, I talked to him about it a little and told him I was going to start murdering some baits by modifying them, and I couldnt get that same sweet action and head up super SLOW rise at the same time, turned them neutral or sinkers. This is why I leave the bait building to those with the minds. Well I called Roger the other nite and he had taken what I said and decided to do some tinkering with the weighting and behold, he came up with one with the same action and a slight head up rise. I am like a kid waiting for christmas now untill I have some of these in my hands!
Roger listens to everything! Its very scary sometimes, he is like a sponge. And takes what he hears and then applys it. Dude is always tinkering. Being in the boat with hime earlier this past summer while he was trying to get the Mutant Toad to do what he wanted, he took information from a conversation he had with someone years ago on towing a boat and applied it to the lure, I was amazed. The Mutant Toad is going to put some serious fish in the boat for alot of people. In the limited time I have on it I am convinced that if it were someones goal just to catch fish, this is the only lure they need! I have never seen fish get so angry at a lure before everytime. Not a lure that someone wants to cover alot of water with, although I found myself doing just that quite often just because of how I have seen it effect fish. It will definatly be welded to one of my rods this year.

Location: WESTERN WI | Thus far to date the rumbler has the most hype surrounding it this winter. If it produces many more will be sold and it will become standard fare in the bait lineup. This is the most likely scenario since, has there been a tail spinning prop bait that has never had success???
As far as the most "shock and awe" baits that I have seen it certainly goes to the 26 oz. Bulldawg. That thing, if it produces (trolling most likely or casting  ) could set off a wave in the musky bait industry that would yield some HUGE baits for next year. |

Location: michigan | Thats one of my own. I call them fakebaits. Its 9" long, weight is 3.3oz. And swims about 4 to 5 feet at a decent retrieve. It floats so you can twitch it as well. Heres a pic of a 48" that wanted to snake on a Benny bait (fire tiger)
