How close is this body of water to being like a shield lake, and is there good size, and numbers in it? Thinking of doing a summer trip there. What is a good time to go?
Thank you,
MuskyDan

Hi Dan,
Vermilion has it all good numbers
and big fish. The males average
42.5 and the females come in at a very respectable 46". (DNR Stats)

Vermilion is a shield lake, with
stained water. The west end is a bit clearer than the east but the fishing is good on either end.

Mid July thru September would be the best time for numbers but you
always have a shot at a 50+. []
