Posts: 140 | I've actually developed a 10" bait similar to the Jake, but it's neutrally bouyant like a DDD. Should be available at the end of Jan or early Feb. There's also something else quite different about the bait, which is in the process of being patented. Look for the Violator coming to Musky Shows and major retaliers.

Posts: 58 Location: Oak Island, MN | Jason (Reef Hawg), That's one of the beautiful things with the existing "DDD". The The neutral buoyancy is so borderline, that you can change it's action very easily with a hook change. I often remove the center hook to achieve the slight rise you are describing, Just replacing the factory hooks with beefier ones will turn it into a sinker. Or any combination in between. Wish I had these options with a Jake.

Anyone have the magical amount of veggy oil or weight to add to a jake to make it neautral?? I am talking about the new Jakes, which are different than the older ones. I plan to tinker this winter, but would rather get it right the first time if possible, and I am sure someone here has gotten it down......though might not be willing to talk.....??.....hehehe

| I would without a doubt get my hands on many 10" DDDs and DDs. I love my squirrelly DDDs and DDs, that seems to give them a much bigger profile in the water. They don't quite kickout with as little of effort, but when they do and just sit there with this little tail flutter seems to trigger fish. I know it gets me going, how much the fish really care is questionable. It's very rare not to find a DD or DDD on at least one of my rods at any time during the season, but during the fall I throw them at least 90% of the time. Ryan | |||

Posts: 551 Location: Columbus, Georgia | Interesting, but I was completely unaware that they made Squirlly Triple D's. Just visitefd Dreifter's website. Nothing about that particular lure configuration. Possibly you are confused with another lure?

| Nope, squirrely D's were offered a couple years as show specials. Basically just chop off the end of a DDD and glue on a grub tail. | |||

Posts: 568 | Do they still make the ace minnow ? I have 1 , been repainted a few times, the wood takes on water real bad, swells and cracks. Anyway I would love either an 8 inch husky jerk or even better an 8 inch XRap14. MD
