| I am looking for suggestions/opinions on quality wooden lures for trolling. I currently use Leo's in my muskie fishing activities and they consistently outproduce my hard-plastic trolling lures. I would like to try some other wooden lures and could use some info on good, wooden lures for trolling applications. Thanks.

| My best wooden trolling lures are as follows: Big Game Tackle lures (6" and 9"ers), Woodie Baits, Maison Baits, Franky baits, Loke lures, and Tuff Shads.....they all catch fish....both size and numbers........good luck! |

| Go wood or go home. Woodies, Wiley's, Lokes, and Tuff Shads all rock trolling and are all wood construction  |

Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | I love wood for casting, but hate them for trolling. Just my opinion, but I'd rather re-paint a crank after one season due to bouncing off rocks, hook rub, etc., than to have to re-do one after every trip. Trolling 6 miles on a wood bait takes its toll quick, no matter what it's coated with. |

| Heres a tip on the wood cranks boys. T out the hooks so they dont tear into the belly of the lure. They will last much longer that way. Even at 5-6mph........ |

Location: Lebanon,Mo | if your fishing the big river,i would try those grunt lures. big bait for big fish,and we all know what roams in those waters..........
whoops,forgot to mention they are a wood bait.

| Maybe you should try tuning your plastic lures once in a while, No sense in having 20 believers that swim backwards and sideways. As for woodies, I have one called "old faithful" made by LEO, that toothy critters just love to put thier mouth on. Have you ever put your mouth on a woodie? |

| depending on depths needed. i would look at the 9 inch woodie thumper series. its built to just plain piss off big fish |

| Go with a hand made wood bait from a quality builder and if you have a problem with it they will in most all circumstances take care of the problem, they put allot of pride into their work, any of the custom builders listed above a good stand up guys and their baits put allot of fish in the boat every season.

| if you can ever find a Novak Fatbodied crank, or any of his cranks for that matter.....all hell will break loose for you.
they "blow out" like no other bait you have ever seen....you know the famous "wiley walk" or the "t3 stumble" or whatever it's called.
i love mine, i wish i could find more so i could dump my other less used plastic stuff. |

| ACE Minnow baits any size from 5" to 10", the Pike baits are good too. Also think about trolling jerkbaits with a downrigger, very effective method.
