Posts: 227 Location: Southeast Wisconsin | No matter how long I fish for these crazy muskies, they will never cease to amaze me.. Fishing by myself today, I had a fish grab a sucker that was 20' back on a float. Before grabbing the rod and turning the boat, I reeled in the other sucker that was 10' back on a float. As the 10' sucker approached the boat, I noticed an upper 30" fish following. I reeled the sucker all the way up to the back of the boat, engaged the reel, grabbed the other rod and turned the boat to chase the first fish. As I approached the float, I looked back just in time to see the 10' sucker get smashed by the following fish! I set the hook on fish #1 and soon had it in the net. I grabbed the other rod and set the hook. After a brief battle, I scooped fish #2 in the net just as the hooks popped out (of course) Caught in Southeast Wisconsin.. Suckers were 5 feet down and I was zig zagging 6-10 foot weed beds.. Ive had doubles while fishing with clients, but never by myself. Was a very cool experience! Good luck this weekend!! | Do you carry a tripod? I often fish along and have wondered how to take photos without anyone else in the boat...

Posts: 227 Location: Southeast Wisconsin | Thanks!! The double release is my ALL TIME favorite pic. I was indeed fishing by myself. When I got to the launch in the morning, I ran into two guys from my muskies inc club who were just heading out. When I got the second fish in the net, they were within earshot and came over to take the pics for me. I wanted some decent pics, so I had one of the guys jump in my boat When taking self timer photos, I set the camera on top of the motor. Not the best option when its choppy LOL.. Take care Ben www.benkueng.com Edited by Ben Kueng 11/18/2006 8:41 PM
