Location: Contrarian Island | CPainter and I had 3 of the most action packed days I would venture to guess he or I have ever had especially for Late November!!!! ..starting off Friday at 10 am on the Madison Chain, we moved over 30 fish for the day...most were over 38" as well with a couple in the near 4 foot mark. Getting them to follow was easy...but to hit took quite a bit of coaxing...erratic baits that could hang on the pause seemed to be the trigger...we ended up boating 6 (2 sub 30", 31, 34", 35.5", 44.5", and 45") on the day. Saturday we hit the same stuff and the fish were still there but maybe not quite as active as friday, moved 24 on the day one of which was really big....I got a little one, Cory lost a 38"ish fish and I did have 3 fish up to 42" swing and miss a big Red October tube but all the frustration of seeing that many fish paid off at 4pm when a super fat 46" ate the mag dawg on the pause...Sunday we hit it once again and moved 24 fish but didnt see the numbers of bigger fish as we did friday and saturday....they were very lazy and getting them to hit was next to impossible...nothing made it into the net but for 3 days of fishing at the end of November I don't think you could have more action than 65+ follows and 8 fish in the net to 46". And we were fishing in water depths I bet most musky anglers in southern WI werent.... Now I REALLY wish they would extend that southern WI season!!! here are the 3 bigger ones.... Posts: 1245 Location: Madtown, WI | Thanks for sharing the Boat Brad! Reflecting back on the weekend.....the same thing you hear people say....find the bait fish and you will find the muskies....well as most folks pound the steep rocky breaks in the late fall....we found the bait fish stacked shallow. I know both Brad and I had a very good learning experience this weekend. We both like to be very versitile, and this weekend just reinforced the need to keep and open mind!!! Posts: 568 | Another good creek day, fished with muskie_man , I got 2 , a 35 and 31 . We saw 3 others . Good day , weather down here in ky has been great , in the 60's , with at least 2 more warm days called for. Has been warm for 3 days. I think I got the grand slam or whatever the ocean guys call it. Got a 3lb smallie, 3 white bass, and a sauger out of the ohio river in the AM and the muskie in the PM. GREAT DAY ! But Muskie_man raised a huge creek fish .... MD

Posts: 1939 Location: Black Creek, WI | I went out on Sunday afternoon alone. Actually experienced the baitfish connection for a change (If you don't know... I feel too much emphasis is put on the presence of baitfish). Found baitfish all over the place on the deeper flats (20-25 feet) adjacent to the main basin. But... the only place I could contact fish was right over the top of massive PODS of bait. If the bait was scattered, but present... no muskies. Mark a huge ball of bait.... and the muskies would show up. Had 5 nice ones (mid forties) show and chase on the figure8, but I couldn't convert them. Close, but no cigar!!!! Water temps were 38F.... and the boat is now put away for the season.

Location: Athens, Ohio | "How did the muskies treat you this weekend?" - Like a baby treats a diaper! Fished Cave Run Saturday and Sunday, Capt. Harry did put a fish in the ol Gambler right at dusk Saturday, and I had one nip 6 times at my Beaver (bait) but would not hook up. Dave and I pounded the water Sunday. I had a fantastic time in the boat with each of these gentlemen! Making a new fishing friend seems more important than hooking a fish, at least at my age. (I'm looking into Cave Run Manor assisted living center, right behind Crash's; Steve, do you want copies of the info? It's never too early to plan.......) Tony's hospitality was on max, too, if he ever retires from fishing he should take up cooking! I enjoyed playing guitar for folks around the fire at the lodge. We even did a round of "Wish you were Here" for Mauser. m Attachments ---------------- Harry at the cave.jpg (24KB - 128 downloads)

| another good weekend in Vilas. Friday the lakes were wide open where we were fishing, however Saturday when Rozanski and I woke up there was 3/4" - 1" worth of ice on the entire chain. We broke ice for the first two hours on the water and cleared almost an entire lake. It was an experiece I will not forget. Clearing areas to fish, going through them slow at first to crack the ice then flying through the area to push it all aside. We boated 5 heavy fish, but Rozanski forgot the usb connector for his camera up north...so no pics to post. What an amazing november for fishing...the fish were really on this month and it was some of the most fun fishing i have had in a while. Saturday night was a good time as well. Otto's was fun. Sled, BigMo, agrimm, sloan, gordy and myself all got overserved by rozanski. Good way to end the year. Looking forward to next. JJ | |||

Posts: 1061 Location: Medford, WI | I fished Trout Lake for the first time in my life this past weekend. We didn't get anything in the boat, but had a mid 30's follow in within the first half an hour. Then, I brought my bait back in and looked back to see if I could see my sucker in the water and sure enough I could see it....along with a nice ol' musky head right on it's tail!!! Followed the sucker for around two minutes, but just would not take it. I tried jigging it up and down and giving out line but nothing was triggering the musky. Nothing in the boat...but lots of ideas in my head for the future. Had a great time being out and fishing in a t-shirt and longsleeve shirt and no gloves in the end of November....sure can't beat that!!! Good luck to those of you lucky enough to get out this week before the closer! -Jake

Posts: 2515 Location: Waukesha & Land O Lakes, WI | Nice way to end my season. Jim Komar, Chris Keidel and I went out to Pewe on Friday...gorgeous weather. We picked up this little guy 30 seconds after tossing the sucker overboard. Had a couple more pick up and drops, but overall, we had a great time. Posts: 222 Location: Hartland, WI | here are the pics i was talking about earlier...we were able to get them with a card reader. had to leave the rangers at home to get through the ice...but was well worth it. here are a few of the fish from the last two weekends in vilas and some shots of the ice we had to deal with last saturday...but it was worth it. Never get rid of old boats...they can save your day sometimes! It was fun as usual with Rozanski.
