I am looking at a starcraft 17 ft deep V tiller with a 50 hp merc 4 stroke.
Is that motor big enough for that boat?
I cant find any specs for max hp for the boat.
Anyone else run something similiar and could give some insight.
Thanks
Fisherben

The max HP rating on my Lund 1660 Pro-v is 60hp. I have a 50 hp Yamaha four stroke and top out at 34 mph with 22 gallons of gas me and three batteries. Add a 200 lb'r sitting in the middle and it's 30-32 mph.

dont know if this helps, but i have a lund rebel 1650 console with a yamaha 40hp 4-stroke,and with me and my eq. in the boat i can run between 31-34mph. my dad won a jack plate from yamaha,i traded it for a ladder he wanted and stuck it on there. looks cool, but just gave me about 2mph gain.
