| Here are some ERC blanks I just got back from Rob Peterson. I am very happy and grateful. I just could not quite capture the bluegill color in the photo though. It is even better in real life. Thanks Rob!

| As a lure painter myself, I have come to the conclusion that only God can do a bluegill.
The rest of us just like to try.
Any one of those patterns will catch fish. They don't have to look exactly like what you are trying to imitate.
Lure makers and taxidermists should have different looking paintjobs. Make it look too real, and predatory fish won't be able to find them, just like in the wild. Lures should be easy to see, so they get noticed and get eaten.
Pink and blue, pink and purple....opposite ends of the spectrum. That creates contrast, and that is what fish can see. |

Your welcome, and thank you for the kind words and the challenge as well!
The Smallmouth and Bluegill patterns were the most difficult schemes I've done this far, and the most colors of paint done one one bait.
I appolgize for how long they took. Between work, spending time with the family, fishing the outing as well as the late season, and Club Business, I've had little time for anything else. Deer season is a week from saturday, and I just finally mounted a new scope on my muzzleloader last night. I still have to get it boresighted and sighted in yet.
I am extatic that you are happy with my work, Bro. Stick a pig on one of them and send me a pic for my website. It will earn you a free re-paint. |

Are you still using Auto Air from Createx? If so, what color is the green you are using on the blue gill - I like that color?

Yes, still createx, and auto air, but I got Lori (better color vision than I have) mixing paint to match what customers want. I got probably 40+ jars of paint, and Lori tells me what to shoot. |
