Hey Guys,
I've got a Lawrance H2Oc and handheld gps. The question that I've got is that
when I'm out on the water the arrow shows me that I'm on land. To me that is
wrong is there any Handheld GPS pros outthere who could help.

Depends, if you are at the landing, the error might put you up on land if you have a detailed chip. Some of the base maps aren't the best in detail and I know that Okauchee doesn't even show the channel to the landing, so you are driving on land all the way to the launch. Put in the Navionics chip and it is detailed down to the foot. Nothing to worry about.

Thanks Muskiemetal,

It's not at the landing that it does that it's on the water when I'm coming up to
structure like mid lake humps it tend to show that I've all ready passed it. Also show me that I'm on land and I'm on the lake. I also have the Navionics chip.
So sometimes I restart my gps,but it still ends up doing that.

I have an H2O with a Navionics chip. A lot of it just depends on which lake you're on. Some of the lakes are pretty much dead on accurate. Others will be off a bit. Usually, if they're off, it usually has you off in a consistent direction and distance. For example, it might always show me to the SE by 150 feet to what the map says. In cases like that, you just have to keep that in mind and make a mental note of it when you read your GPS.

Try hitting the 'exit' key -- sometimes mine does that and when I hit exit, it relocates me to where I am actually at.

On my 334 it helps to get a more accurate track log by turning off the track smoothing.

I would sure think the inaccuracy is with the map data.

You can check the current accuracy of the GPS....it should be shown in the satelitte signal page.

I don't have a h2o but I'm sure it is similar to the full size 334 or the old handheld Garmin 12xl I have a bunch of time with.
