The a good share of the muskies in the lake I have been fishing seem to be in the heavy weed slop. My buddy and I fish a couple beds and I usually run my Topraider or Jackpot around the edges while he gets all the action with his Top Prop (Mister Twister solid buzz type bait) right in the slop. He has yet to hookup, but he is just learning not to jerk the bait away from the fish. Well, today I picked up a Top Prop and a Sloppee Pig for my slop firepower.

The Sloppee Pig seems to be on the order of the old bass bait the "Moss Boss" which I used to have great success with. It can be a tough hooking bait, but it always drew attacks from bass and pike, and I hooked my share of fish that I couldn't get at otherwise.

The Top Prop is a neat lure and it should be a good hooker. The factory hooks (tandem doubles that ride up) are incredibly sharp right out of the package. The Sloppee Pig hook will need a few strokes.

Anyway, have any of you muskie nuts had any success or horror stories with these baits? Do you have any other alternatives for the really thick slop?

Thanks,
KwikStik

Most lakes I fish do not have alot of slop. There is a slopee pig jr. which is good sized and all rubber. There is the frogzilla which I believe snag proof makes.
