Just wondering if anyone has had a problem with the rear hook pulling out or breaking off the harness inside the dawg. A friend of mine lost a 52" and about a 44" . Both dawgs broke at the harness inside where it"s conected. Both baits were new.

not yet, but it might be that those bulldawgs you have are the new ones made in china. if they are that wouldnt really surprise me. makes me a little nervous about using my new china dawgs, no choice the originals are now impossible to find.

The best thing to do with the new China dawgs is to change the split rings right out of the package. I have herd others losing big fish on these baits because the rings fail.

We have had several (4-6) of the solid wire bulldogs made in China break in the back. If you tear the bull dog apart it looks like they are trying to weld the wire shut when they make the back loop for the split ring to hang on. I think they are getting the wire too hot and causing it to get weak. you can see where they are heating the wire up because there is a burn mark on it. I had one break before it ever hit the water I was trying to tune it to run straight and snap.

We still use them because you cant get anything better. Just hope and pray they dont keep breaking. I havent lost a 52 on one yet either though.
