I am wondering if you guys can share with me how you control moisture from your airbrush. I am having issues when my pump gets warm. I have a Badger pump and a Paasche VL brush connected with an 8' hose. I have a moisture filter/separator at the outlet to the pump, but it is not stopping the water from reaching my airbrush. Do I also need an inline filter closer to the airbrush? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I use an Iwata airbrush with an inline moisture filter attached below the brush. Works great and the little valve you use to drain the moisture build up can also be used to lower the air pressure when you want a stipple effect. Just use one thumb nail to push up on that tiny vlave while the other controls the paint and air flow. That's one of my personal secrets!

I have a Badger and run 2 filters. One connected to the pump itself that I flush from time to time....not so bad this time of the year....and another in-line filter about 3 feet from the brush, that is anchored with tie wraps in a straight up and down position to promote drainage. I empty that one any time that I see moisture build up. I shut down the pump so the moisture settles to the bottom of the filter, then I'll pull the stop and let the pump run for 5 minutes to help blow any moisture out.
Works for me.

Thanks for the tips guys, I switched over to my regular craftsman garage compressor, and the moisture problem stopped. For some reason that Badger compressor creates a ton of moisture. I guess I will stick with the one that works.

if you are painting down in your basement, a de-humidifier does wonders if you dont have one.

Thanks guys, my bigger compressor seems to be working much better than the Badger. Here are some baits I got ready for the P.I. outing.
