| I am getting a new 75 4 stroke merc and was wondering what the required break in schedule is going to look like?? I tried there web page but it wasn't listed??
Total time? RPM rates etc.
Thanks!

| Cory, for some reason 20 hrs at 2500 rpm's rings a bell but don't hold me to that. |

| Cory,
You bringing it to the Cave next month? Let me drive it for the week. I'll break it. I mean, break it in.[]
I'll call my trusted Merc friend and find out for you.
Congrats on the new boat.
I'll be in touch.

| I'm running a 2002 Merc 4-stroke. I was told you can run the throttle to full speed, but only for brief periods. Very your throttle settings and avoid a constant speed for any extended period. This is for the first 20 hours of operation. |

| Second what Matt had to say. |

| Thanks guys! So from what Matt says it doesn't seem to be to strict. I will get the 20 hours out of the way in April so she is good to go for May!~
New boat is not making the trip to the Cave. Scotty Jenkins will be my boat man! I didn't want to put it up on a stump like Scotty did last year.....

| The book on my Merc 225 also speaks to mixing in some oil with the gas for the first tank (mine is oil-injected); don't know if that is needed on yours or not. Did you call your dealer? m |
