Muskie Fishing -> Lures,Tackle, and Equipment -> water temps??

Subject: water temps??

For the guys fishing the waters of the south. What water temp gets the muskies to start migrating to a spawning area. I am going to start fishing webster on saturday and I am curious if the fish will be working the baitfish in the depths, or up on the flats anticipating the spawn. I am safely assuming the water temps will be around 40 degrees when I get there on Saturday.
Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.

Dan

Muskies in south usually will start migrating shallow when the water temps are climbing into the mid to upper 40's. I have found the warmer the water the shallower. Being early in the season i would look for shallow water areas next to deeper water. That means any shallow water stucture, main lake flats and points can be the first spots to hold fish. Hope this helps, remember to "Battle the Beast"!
