Location: Florence, Wisconsin | I am looking for pictures of the Michigan state record that was caught out of thornapple lake a couple of years ago. It was big news, but I never saw pictures and wanted to. I need motivation for the snow. Thanks for any replies.

| I guess I'm a little behind, I did'nt know a new record came out of Thornapple. How big was it? I fish there a couple of times a year, it's about 120 miles from my home so it takes some time to go there.

Location: Florence, Wisconsin | the record from thornapple a couple of years ago was 49 pounds and some odd ounces. You can get the exact specs from michigan dnr website or the fishing rulebook. My subject in the post made it sound like it was a new new state record so i guess I goofed that and dissapointed some people. Sorry.

Location: Muskegon Michigan | 51 inches long 28 inch girth. 49 lbs 12 oz. Fish was kept. I had the picture but got sick of looking at it(dead fish you know?) rumor has it that this fish had a huge forage fish in its stomach. I heard it would have only weighed about 42/44 lbs empty. Caught in November it was a fat slob of a fish . you could see the bulge in its gut from the bass or carp or what ever it had eaten. We have a 50 inch size limit in Thornapple now and there will be more big ones coming soon. I got a nice 46 there last year(november) its about 1 1.2 hours from my home in Muskegon. Kingfisher |
