| Which reel should i get? I'm looking for a miskie reel which can be used for all types of lures, i am also on a budget, thank you.

| There are several reels that I'd suggest based on my experience.
The Ambassaduer 5500 (spooled with 50 lb. PowerPro) has worked well for me, as has the Ambassaduer 6500 (spooled with 65 lb.). The 6500 is probably the "industry standard" reel. The 5500 is the same reel with a narrow spool. You should be able to get either of these reels for $60-$80.
My favorite reel for muskie fishing, as well as everything else is the Shimano Curado. I spool the reel with 50 lb. PowerPro, mount it on a 71/2 foot flippin stick and use it for everything from bass to muskies. It works great. This reel sells for around $120.

| I have been using the "Pete Maina Signature Series" reel from Bass Pro the last three seasons and have been very impressed with it. The reels sell for around $90 and I would highly recommend this reel. I am pretty hard on reels being able to muskie fish about 250 days a year, and they have held up very nicely. Actually, a lot better than most of the high dollar reels. I would recommend the 5.2 to 1 gear ratio reel. Hope this helps, and just check out a Bass Pro catalog to look at them. |

| For casting - get an Abu Garcia 5500 series - smaller diameter reel - good for casting all day.
For trolling and sucker fishing - get an Abu Garcia 6500 series - has a bait click out alarm - larger diameter reel - could make for a long day of casting.
The Abu's are good rugged reels for a very good price. |

| I agree with the 6500C4 for casting. For trolling, the Daiwa SG47LC seems to work well. It's hand having the line counter on the reel. |

| Cant go wrong with a 6500C-3, simple reel that proforms with the best of them. Many many big muskies have been caught on a simple 6500c-3. |
