| On my recent trip north stopped by and purchased 4 baits, all surface lures, and one of them on their recommendation that it had a unique sound and might be a good one. I rarely throw surface but have to admit to being a sucker for surface baits.
Long story short, got the baits up north, threw them and was satisfied with what 3/4 did, however the other bait which was one of the "hot new baits" at the shows the last couple of years did not perform worth a hoot. As I looked at it closely I saw that the bait had already been modified by manufacturer to cover one of the two problems in running the bait, and the fix wasn't successful. After speaking to two different fisherman about the bait and their experience, decided the bait probably was not just a tuning problem and I didn't want to mess with it. Stopped at R&H's on the way back and put it on the counter expecting some argument and possibly being stuck with the bait anyway.
No discussion. They simply went into the till got the money out + tax and handed it to me. I had not thrown the bait enough to wash off the price tag. To me this is quality service and you gotta recommend a place like that. I probably drop at least $100 a year there and sometimes quite a bit more, and realize many others spend much more, and I probably would keep spending money there in the future, regardless, but I was mighty please with the refund and of course headed south without it, minus another buck or so when I left.
The bait I returned? You can probably guess... |
