Posts: 507 | It's partly cloudy and mild with the temperature at 59 degreres and winds south east at 9 MPH this morning. A thunderstorm is likely this afternoon as a cold front approaches from the west, and winds are forecast to be 14 MPH out of ther south. Today should produce some serious action for the 183 teams hitting the water competing for the $20,000.00 first prize. Look for updates during the day today and a wrap up for the Saturday competition this evening.

Posts: 507 | 183 teams took to the water today at 8 Am looking for a double and a shot at the $20,000.00 first place money. Weather was perfect, with SE winds and rain on and off, and the Muskies are going! Fishing continues until 6 PM tonight. Dave Jonesi and Troy Adler are leading the Hodag Challenge as of noon Saturday with 44" and 41" muskies from the Moen Chain. 23 fish have been registered in the event in the first four hours of fishing, with 40% over 40". Stadler and Bloch also doubled, with a 34.5 and a 36 from Oneida. Stay with MuskieFIRST for updates during the day! Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posts: 32926 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Images are taken helter skelter by anglers and registrations stations, so we will work with the Chamber to get you the pictures we can find! Here's a few from this morning including one of the Jonesi/Adler muskies. Thanks to the Hubers and the registration station on Moen's for these shots! Posts: 2323 Location: Stevens Point, WI | Jonesi, you are one lucky guy to have a partner like Troy. He has one of the biggest horseshoes stuck somewhere I have yet to find out. What a tandem you two make. Congrats and look forward to hearing how you guys do.

Posts: 32926 Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | Dave Jonesi and Troy Adler held onto the the lead today with their 41 and 44" double, but Team 240, Schyeizer and Sexton, are hot on their heels with a double of their own at 41.5" and 40.75". There were six other doubles out of a total tally of 42 fish caught on Day One of the Salmo Hodag Challenge. Herman and Herman are just behind the second place team with a double measuring just 7 points out of second. The weather tomorrow looks good with a couple thundershowers forecast under cloudy skies and SW winds at 10. The Teams will launch at 7 AM and fish until Noon.
