| I've used my St. Croix Premier PM70MHF with great success as an all-around rod - bucktails, crankbaits, etc. I'm going to start fishing some jerk baits this year and wonder if my present rod will suffice if I keep the weight to 3 ounces or less, or whether I should go to a PM60HF for jerkbaits. |

| Otter,
I would recommend either Heavy power rod, PM60HF or PM69HF. You will probably get a better distance cast and better hooksetting with the longer rod.

| The 6' is a great for someone who is just starting to fish jerkbaits or is a great Jackpot rod. I now use the 6'9" HF but started with a 6' foot rod and moved up to 6'9" as I became more comfortable. Still Jackpot the 6'

| Otter I don't know if you have seen the 6'9" st. croix avid but thats a great rod too! The 6'9" St. Croix seems to be more heavy and bulkier but the 6'9" can handle the same stuff being lighter and not so bulky. I just got one of these avids, they sure make throwing baits out there far no problem. |
