| Which is better in your opinion: 80# Spectron 80# TUF line 80# Powere pro | |||
| |||
| Power pro for sure you just can't break the stuff and it retains less water.[:sun:] | |||

| 80 lb. Power Pro I have been using it for the past three years. Simply the best line I have ever used. | |||
| |||
| I've been using Spectron for the past 8 years or so, you get stuck in your ways. Want to try the power pro, but don't want to buy a huge spool if I don't like it. | |||
| |||
| I have tried them all and prefer the Cortland Spectron by far. All are made of the same stuff, but the way that they are braided is the key. For my purposes, I just have the best results with Spectron. Muskie regards, Larry Ramsell www.larryramsell.com | |||

| I have used all the lines in past few years. I have gone power pro steady the last three years, in general I like it the best, easy to cast, tough as nails. I would recommend the power pro to anyone, and go with the 80 lb. test Brad Breuer Breuerguideservice.com | |||

| I'm going with the majority and say Power Pro, this stuff is tuff and works great,great for casting and trolling.Never had it fail on me and has good abrasion qualities. D'arcy Finlan http://www.darcyfish.com/Musky.html | |||

| 80lb Tuff line is flawless as far as I am concerned. I have used the stuff for years. I mostly use 50lb, but I have 80lb on some reels and really like it. Small diameter and its smooth to cast, with out a memory problem. When I was guiding I tried them all, because of my clients backlashes...and Tuff Line was by far the easiest to work with. | |||
| |||
| Just curious, What's everyone's take on Berkeley Whiplash? | |||
| |||
| You have probably listed the three top lines that are available to muskie fisherman. I would go with the Cortland Spectron because I am very happy with it and have been using it the last six years. I fish nearly 250 days a year, and have never had a problem with it. I have not tried the Power Pro or the Tuff line. Listening to my other buddies that guide, they have been happy with those lines, but I will just stick with Spectron because it has never let me down. | |||

| Looks like I'm the only one that likes Whiplash. Yes, there one of my sponsers, but to be honest I could be sponsered by any of the above named brands but I choose them because of the performance and durability of there line. I.M.H.O.[:)] | |||

| The only differences I have observed in the super lines is: A- Power pro seems to be a little less visible in the clear waters that I fish and : B-Power pro seems to pick up a little less water than the others.They are collectively all great and represent what is one the best technological advancements in some years in fishing.Extremely reliable and cost effective in the long run.HC Meyer Seven Islands Guide Service Presque Isle Wi. | |||

| I like 80lb stectron (I have it on three rods), and 150lb Whiplash (the other three, they are about the same diameter). The main thing I would tell you is not to go to something that's real small diameter in any of the superbraids. They all have "shock" problems with a backlash in the smaller pound test, and a backlash will at times send your lure flying off into the distance. The smaller diameter lines also will create a backlash that you would not believe. I would go to at least 50 lb test, and I don't use anything lighter than 80. Otherwise all the line you mention are fine. One of the best superbraids made was Berkleys "Ultramax". Of course they quite making it, probably because it lasted forever. Doug Johnson | |||

| Yes, 60lb Ultra-max is good stuff. It sounds noisy when you cast it, but it doesn't seem to hurt anything. I used Ultra-max for 4-5 years, and never changed the line. Finely just thought I should change, but it lasted a long time, and was very easy to cast with. Never had a single break-off. Doug Johnson | |||
