Posts: 2037 Location: lansing, il | with my stealth leaders becoming more and more popular and already having them in a couple of stores, and most recently adding another store ye olde tackle in webster indiana...i need some packaging suggestions...right now we use ziplock bags which work out great but my "advertising card" leaves alot to be desired..... a home computor and card stock form the local office supply is working but to compete with the best looking stuff on the market i think my packaging needs a upgrade..our new q/s harness will be out soon and i will need to go to "clam" type packaging for that...in any case anyone have any suggestions for having packaging and or packaging advertising cards done. of course price is a important factor here. thanks

Clamshells would be a waste of $ for you, and hook space on the retail end. keep doing the card stock thing, but maybe a Food saver might be cheaper than zip locks for you.

Posts: 786 Location: Minnesota | Card stock with a label with leaders on top with clear heat sealable wrap and then shrunk wrapped with heat gun. Almost everything you need from Uline.com - Print labels from home computer and cut with cutter http://www.staples.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/StaplesProductDisp... - Chipbaord pads (may have to cut to final size for your packages) http://www.uline.com/Browse_Listing_1852.asp - Shrik wrap tubing http://www.uline.com/Browse_Listing_2406.asp?desc=Uline+Shrink+Tubi... - Heat gun http://www.uline.com/AdvSearchResult.asp?Ref=Pwrshp&Source=ALL&keyw... - Heat sealer http://www.uline.com/Group_46.asp?searchedkeywords=heat%20sealer - Can even add stickable hangers or use hole punch (I think the hole hangers look better) http://www.uline.com/AdvSearchResult.asp?Ref=Pwrshp&Source=ALL&keyw... Hope this help muskihntr. Finding the sutff to make your hobby happen is sometimes the hardest part. It seems you already know how to make good products. Good luck! Posts: 2037 Location: lansing, il | yeah the ziplock bags and cards work great for the leaders, im sure i will stick with those, but now that i am adding a q/s rig, the problem is the hooks poking thru the plastic, so that is why i am looking into the "clam" style packaging!...no kiddin its the small things that are the most difficult!!! you got that right!

Posts: 2112 Location: The Sportsman, home, or out on the water | For quick strikes, you could go with clams. Or, do as i did when I did Bucktails, and put screen spline pieces over the hook points, when packaged in Poly bags. More labor? ubetcha. Cheaper that clams? UBETCHA!

Posts: 786 Location: Minnesota | They do make thick shrink packaging that would work as well. Basically molds around your product. I know some bucktail lures do this and it seems to work well. They are smaller bass type though.
