| All of this talk about sucker fishing has me thinking about the problems that I have had with sucker rigs over the years so I wanted to see what others have had luck with. I have been using the Muskie mania rubber band rigs for the past 3 years with OK luck but it really seems like there should be a better way. Before that I used the Smity big hook through the nose rigs and I must say I found them to be very hard to work with with low success for me anyways. |

Location: Palm Coast, FL | I use 120lb. flourocarbon about 4-5 feet in length. You can use either a split ring or a clasp on one end and sweivel on the other. I take the ring/clasp and put in into the suckers mouth and out through the gill. I then attach my hook to the end. I put my hook right on the side behind the dorsal fin. When attaching the hook I push it in up to the first turn of the shank and then push the point and barb back out through. That usually holds the hook in place. On the other end you can either put a float with a sinker or just a sinker alone. |

| I use a system similr to Mainas, but I incorporate a hook on the bottom/side of the sucker with a small trout hook that goes into the vent or side of the sucker. The other treble is in-line and swings freely near the pectoral fins, and is adjustable for placement. Good hooking easy to use rig. |
