Does anybody use round rubber skirting? Is there an easier way to separate the strands other than pulling each and everyone by hand (the way I do it now)? Thanks.

grab the flat strip of rubber at the very end and pull it tight. Trim the very end off with a sharp sissors while holding tight and the individual strands will snap back seperated from the other strands.

Thanks, but I've tried that & it seems that I still get 4 or 5 strand groups that stick together. Maybe I'm not pulling hard enough. I'll give it a try tonight. Thanks again.

I have tried the above and find that I pull on the end to get it started then put each strand apart.

Queastion, how do you put your skirts together? I use leader material and the shortest crimp I can find. Double wrap 30lb stranded, pull tight with some vise grips, then clamp the crimp with a small pair of vise grips. You can put as much material in there as you desire.

I either use a zip (cable) tie or tie it with heavy nylon thread. I just hate taking the time to separate 200+ strands of rubber. I thought there might be a trick out there that I didn't know of. Here's what I do by hand

If it's round rubber then I use one of those square dog combs, the ones with lots of bristles normally use don the dog or for straightening hair when fly-tying but it does work Ok on rubber
