Hi:
I will be heading up to fish the three lakes chain for the first time in a couple of weeks, and was wondering if anyone had some information regarding this system that they would be willing to share with me. Any information including which lakes to focus on, etc. would be much appreciated.

Thank you!

Diverse fishery.

Southern lakes are darker (tannic stain = coffee colored) and have a shallower weedline. If you get some cooling weather... those lakes will have fish up real shallow.

Many of the larger lakes have cisco... so the "open water" suspended pattern is always an option.

The north end has more weeds and clearer water. Lots of options there.

Bait selection doesn't seem to matter as much as location... so grab your favorite bait and start snooping around. The key to Three Lakes is versatility. What's working today rarely works tomorrow. Heck... even the same day you can catch a fish in 40 feet of water and 2 feet of water. Thus, just fishing what looks good to YOU is never a bad idea.

Good Luck.

I'll be at my cottage near Big Stone Golf Course for 3 out of the 4 weeks in Aug. Look for a 1850 Crestliner (black decals) w/ 150 Yam on back...we can share patterns...
