| The Wisconsin Muskie Tour (WMT) will be hosting the South/Central Finals on Lake DuBay on September 9 and 10th. The Lake DuBay tournament will be the last qualifier for the WMT's 2006 season and the last chance to qualify for the Invitational Championship, to be held on the Eagle River Chain.
The WMT's DuBay tournament will be limited to 150 teams who will be competing for the $20,000.00 first place prize money (if the tournament is full) and the opportunity to qualify for the most prestigious tournament in muskie fishing today, the WMT's Invitational Championship.
Tournament anglers, new to Lake DuBay, will be impressed with the size of muskies found in this trophy fishery. Big muskies of thirty five to forty pounds-plus are caught on Lake DuBay every year and most are released by sportsmen, so others can experience the excitement that Lake DuBay's monster muskies has to offer. The WMT is excited to be visiting Lake DuBay during this early fall date as it could produce the largest muskie ever recorded in a WMT event. The fifty-inch pool (for the first muskie registered in a WMT tournament that is 50 inches or larger) could increase to $10,000.00 by the DuBay tournament, depending on anglers participation.
The WMT's Lake DuBay muskie tournament is open to the public. The cost to enter the tournament is only $300 per two-person team. To enter the tournament and for more information, log onto the WMT's website http://www.WMTseries.com , email [email protected] , or call 715-369-1394. The tournament headquarters for the Lake DuBay tournament will be at Heckel's Marina on the shores of Lake DuBay. Registration will be on Friday, September 8th from 5:00-7:30pm at Heckel's Marina, with the rules meeting commencing at 7:30pm. Each participant of the DuBay tournament will receive a chance to win a $34,000.00 Ranger Boat, compliments of Heckel's Marina and Ranger Boats. The winner of the new Ranger Boat will be drawn at the WMT's Championship at Eagle River on September 24th, 2006. |
