Posts: 281 Location: Girdwood, Alaska | I have a 7'6'' MH bass pro flippin' stick with a pflueger trion baitcaster that makes a good crossover musky/bass rod. It has 30lb power pro on it and works great for spinnerbaits.

Posts: 1137 Location: Holly, MI | Bass can save the day. I have a 2 piece 6'6" St Croix with a Shimano Calais on it that lives in my car! Never know when you might drive by a place where you "have" to stop and make a couple of casts. I also use a Gander Mtn Gsx Tournament that I got for $30 in their going out of business sale (local store only). I love that rod and use it for pike and bass. I have the baby ABU on it (4601) that has the 6.3:1 ratio. It will really burn in a trap but can be hard to slow down for slow rolling. Bass/pike lakes..10 of them within 15 miles. Musky fishing for me..About an hour and a half each way

Posts: 1335 Location: Chicago, Beverly | 6'6" med action spinning(Legend), I think its a fast tip... something with a bit of backbone though, not too whippy... and usually I run 8lbs maxima chameleon or 8lbs trilene xl for the line on one of the shimano reels I have... Posts: 3915 | 6' Falcon medium action rod with a Pinnacle 25 reel loaded with 6# trilene xl. And, you shoul float the Jack's Fork river, down in the Ozarks, for a few days of KILLER action. Un-friggin-believable fishing, and you camp out of your canoe. Like backpacking. Best I did was 65 miles (into the Current River) over 10 days. River time hits on the 3'rd day. River time....when you adjust your inner clock to the flow of the river. Live river time, bro, and you'll, well....I thing zero gravity sex mignt be the only better thing.

Posts: 1462 Location: Davenport, IA | For smallies I love my 6'2" Medium Light Shimano Clarus rod with a Guide series GS150 reel. Smoooooth drag hasn't cost me any big fish that like to run and jump. 6 lb test McCoy Mean Green fishing line helps a lot. It has very, very low memory. (almost like fishing braid, but works much better on spinning reels than braid does)

| I like baitcasting rods. My best Bass rod would be a Falcon 6'10"- 5 power baitcasting rod. I have a Cara and a XG lowrider- there is hardly any difference in feel. Save the $$ and get a XG lowrider. Super rod for anything over 1/4oz- (1/8 & 1/4oz)buzzbaits, big worms, pitchin, jigs and spinnerbaits. Best light action rod- smallies Castaway HG40- 6'6" MED. Great for throwing light baits with a light tip and good backbone,Same goes for the Falcon. Both rods around $90.Another good smallie rod- Berkley Series one 7 med. - more like a med. Light(discont- I think),but a $60 rod. | |||
