| I have repainted a Shallow Invader. I sanded the original finish off, and put on two coats of white. (Brush-don't have an air gun. All the paint is Createx.) Then I painted orange stripes, 2 coats, and black stripes, one coat. I have painted the eyes chartruse, figured the bait had a real bad hang-over. Now, I want to put some "clear coat" on it. I have a can of spray clear gloss that I got at a hobby store. Will this work? Suggestions?
(OK someone will ask why orange and black, and I don't know, just thought it would look different... yes it does.)

| I asked this question a while back, and the answer is yes. Try three light coats, 10-15 minutes apart. Works great on plastic baits. Much better for plastic baits than a heavy clear coat like envirotex in my opinion. |

Location: Perham, MN | Rustoleum or envirotex in a can works pretty good for a quick clear coating job like the one you're describing. |

| Spray on Envirotex in a few light coats will do a good job.
I use it to clear walleye and bass lures. You won't get the rock-hard finish like regular Envirotex or something that you can mix and spray on, but it's probably your best option. Just make sure and have some clear nail polish along to paych and scrapes or chips.

| Thanks for the information, sprayed the first coat on this evening. Will spary another on in the morning and then a third.

| It's best to spray second, third, etc. coats while the previous coat is still tacky. |
