Posts: 1764 Location: Ogden, Ut | Participated in again in the annual stocking of tiger muskies into Pineview Reservoir last evening. We added another 20,000 fingerlings to the mix. I took a couple of the fisheries section's interns out (oddly enough from Steven's Point) for a bit of 'sampling' prior to the stocking. We had activity from several fish, Mike had 5 different fish interested (4 VERY short term hookups and 1 additional follow), I had 2 follows and John caught a nice smallmouth. Odd night for tigers, they usually like eating more than following. Pics are of the stocking process, but in no particular order. Yeah, they're small, but our bottleneck isn't predation, it's maintaining nursery habitat. Where these guys are stocked becomes dry in a month or so. So we opt to get more smaller fish into good cover and feeding opportunities early in life and we just live w/ some predation mortality. Anyway, here's the pics...and yes, we still have snow in the mountains. Sorno Attachments ---------------- ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Posts: 4266 | Sorno, what lure is that behind the guy's legs in photo #5? Looks like one that I made, but that's impossible, because I only made one of that pattern. ![]() Beautiful country. But why is he pouring that big garbage can of cologne into the water? That place will stink forever. Beav

I'll be helping the WDNR tag and stock fingerlings in September, I can't wait. Cool job you have ![]()

Posts: 22 Location: Albuquerque | That is very cool. I thought I heard or read somewhere that Pineview wasn't going to be stocked with Tigers again, glad that isn't the case. Do you get your Tigers from Pennsylvania? Here are some Tiger fry that I helped stock 3 or 4 weeks ago. Unfortunately, I didn't get there in time to see the fingerlings, so I'm glad you posted some pics of some. Attachments ---------------- ![]()

Posts: 1764 Location: Ogden, Ut | They come from Minnesota Muskie Farm as sac fry. We grow them to fingerling at our warmwater installation at Wahweap (by Lake Powell). Once they start reducing their numbers by about half due to cannibalization, they get stocked. S.
