I've heard it said..."All you need is the ability to reproduce to be a father, but you need a heart to be a dad."

i remember a few times when i was most proud to be a dad (i've got 4 kids) ... the first was when i was running the trolling motor and my 11 year old (who was 6 then) was throwing his baitcaster off the back and i was throwing off the front and i just remember wanting to pinch myself and never forget the awesome feeling of that moment ...

... the other is now, i'm inside and my 3 boys are out on the golf course behaving like gentlemen learning and respecting the game and tomorrow night will be out first foursome game together ... the reason i'm in here is that my daughter is asleep on my lap.

kids are an amazing gift ...

You got it Sled - it is amazing. And it's the little, simplest things that bring it all back home to ya.

Wouldn't trade it for anything in the world.

Hey Happy Fathers Day Joel:

Thats great timing right before the greatest day on the calendar year.

If you have a father take him fishing, if not take the kids, the wife will appreciate it. You also get the chance boat talk all day. The only issue I have is where and what to fish. My daughter wants to pan fish, my son wants to go for salmon, and Pewaukee is just heating up for muskies.

Enjoy the day DAD's

Sled,

Yep....you hit er' on the head! That is what it is all about. When I look at my mistakes and/or failures, all I need to do is look at my 3 AWESOME kids, and know I've done right by them....AND the world, by raising up some good, God fearin' kids!!

To all of the fathers,

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY ! ! !

Behind every good Father is a Mother that puts up with all of his crap and straightens the kids out.
I know that's the case where I live.
Somebody has to teach Taylor that you can't sit around in your underwear watching Larry the Cable Guy all of the time.
Here you have The Class Clown, The Valadictorian and what happens when you combine the 2.
She's only 10, but she's been on the honor role every semester.....and I'm not taking any credit for that.
But she can take on kids 50 pounds heavier than her on the ice and get up first. She can follow a deer trail and trim shooting lanes.
And she can throw a hookless jerbait over the neighbors fence from 20 yards away with a baitcaster.
I was never too keen about having kids, but now I can't phathom the thought of life without her.
I'm sure that I'm not the only proud papa out there.
Instead of fish pictures, let's see kid pictures for one day.......I better watch how I phrase that, or the feds will storm my house and take my computer and lock me up.
Slamr.......you'd make a great dad......right Nikki?
Have a great day all of you dads.

Happy Father's Day to all the fathers out there. Taking my old man out on the Tuffy tomorrow for some bass/pike/mixed bag fishing....."be ready at 4:30AM, or I'm raiding your fridge" was the proclamation that he heard earlier today.

And Beav, didnt I tell you the name of the 25' center console I'll be running out of a small harbor (tbd) on a coastal fl. town....the DINK (double-income-no-kids)!!!! Here's to all the fathers out there, but no, I am hoping not to be one, ever.

Great pictures guys. No doubt kids are the best. I was a late a starter also, and my wife and I have just our nine year old daughter Grace. Below is one of her and I from last month in Florida, and one of her and I from last Christmas.

Have a great Father's Day everyone.

Kevin

Grace makes the plan shine.

My boys are 26 and 30, grown and all adult now. The greatest Father's Day gift they have ever given me they offer every day. It's good to be known as 'Dad'.

My sons are now 33 and 26. I have been blessed with three grandchildren that seem to be chips off the ol' piscatorial block.

I am leaving in a bit for the Northwoods ... and reading this thread Steve was taken by the simple truth of your post. After all of these years and what few I may have left ... being called "Dad" is unlike anything else ... being called "Pappaw" .. "Pappy" or "Gramps" ... well it sort of makes the cost of this short ride we get worth every cent!!

God Bless all of the Dads in our Musky Fraternity. The future is in our hands... and it is looking bright!

Thought I would add one more. If I look a little uncomfortable, it's because I ate WAY too much at brunch, and desperately needed to unbuckle and get into to sweat pants.

A son/daughter who fishes with their father shares a special bond second to no other on the face of this Earth.

Thank you, Dad!

This is one of the pics I have on my desk at work. Hard to believe this was less than 4 years ago. They have both grown so much.

I got about 50 kisses from my daughter Lauren yesterday, while I was working on the landscaping project I have going at the house. Hot and humid, each one gave me energy to continue til I finished up for the day. My son Eric got a very good report card in the mail Saturday, and is growing taller by the day. Soon to be 15, he's taller than his mother, and working on catching up to me. They are both great kids, and I am so proud of both of them. As mentioned, every day I hear the word "Dad, is a great day for me.

Here is the crew on the dock at the campground with a pike, and dad with a small muskie with the same crew.

My 5 month old daughter has brought unexplainable joy into my life. The amount of fishing time that has been reduced, is not even noticed, as I miss her even while at work. Wierd how the priorities change.

We were able to finally get her into the boat with the recent nice weather for about an hour and a half. My wifes aquirment of the little sun tent for the her to play in really made it nice too, as the screen kept the sun and bugs(that are getting quite bad around here now) out. Mommy was feeding Emma when daddy had to interupt her with a net job. She had to hand Emma to me while she netted the fish and take a quick photo. It was actually sort of funny. To spite me mommy bettered my musky later on, but Emma was sleeping soundly to the small waves bouncing the boat. And to think we were not even going to take our fishing equipment along when we first loaded the boat. One thing interesting that we noted, was that even at 5 months, she didn't seem to fond of jet skies..... Another thing to note is I haven't had nearly the luck without her along, since our outing.
