| Lately I've just been boating and casting! "fishing" implies you actually catch something. Stupid fish | |||

Posts: 2865 Location: Brookfield, WI | It beats missing 7-8 birdie putts every round, and having everybody under the age of forty drive the ball past mine by 30-40 yards. Plus, they're pretty and have really sharp teeth, like that chick in the "Underworld" movies. Kevin Edited by MuskyHopeful 6/16/2006 4:34 PM

Posts: 4266 | Because they are the top predator in their ecosystem, and so are we. We have to show them that we can whoop 'em and just pat 'em on the head and let them go. Besides, it feels good.

Posts: 1299 Location: Hayward, Wisconsin | It is the CHASE! The catch, while far too infrequent, is great, fun to talk about later, but somewhat anticlimatic because the "chase" has ended. Even after catching a great fish, it is IMMEDIATELY on to the next quest! Isn't it??? Muskie regards, Larry Ramsell www.outdoorsman.net/ramsell.html

Posts: 613 Location: big cove tannery pa | Its because of the pure power, the fight these monsters have in them, even a smaller 30inch muskie can put up a good fight. It's also the challenge of catching one, sometimes there on sometimes there not, when you are about to pull your lure out of the water and 40 plus muskie comes out of the water after it,aw #*^@ what a rush,I LOVE IT.

Location: Northern Wisconsin | there big, they have sharp teeth, they fight hard and its cool to see a 45 incher do backflips and splash around the surface, they follow to the boat and stare you down, and casting big lures is better then jigging for little walleyes.

Posts: 101 Location: Liberty, IN (OKI Tri-State) | This is my take as well Larry. The Hunt!! It is all of the hundred-and-one things leading up to 'that encounter'.... then the release, and the more quality the Musky ... the better that feeling seems to be. Lets not forget the characters in our midst that share our passionate pursuite either. Real close on the heels of the "Chase-Catch-Release' factor has to be the people I have met and shared time with on, or near the water, as we share the emotional rollercoaster ride that is successful Musky Hunting. Very special people pursuing a VERY special fish ... thats why!
