We were out today and it was my other sons turn to get a nice one. Actually we had just gotten in and I was in the process of covering the boat while he was checking out my Pacemaker and how it was starting to run a little ragged when he got one heck of a hit. I almost immediately told him something I though I never would.....the musky headed for the pads and I yelled YOU'VE GOT TO HORSE THAT THING OUT OF THERE. Needless to say this turned into a real circus act. After getting it into the net it did a nice roll job and got good and twisted. While trying to untwist her she thrashed and stuck a hook into my middle finger, then thrashed again ripping it all the way through. All in all it was quite interesting, but well worth it. His smile says it all with a new personal best of 42.5", a good start for a 9 year old.

I think holding a musky turns us all into happy children, and I've only caught one small one. Great picture. Congratulations to you and your sons.

Mark, you and your boys are on fire. Let him know it was six more years until I caught my first, and he topped my first by five inches.

Hang in there Guts, if you work at it it'll happen. Believe me, there's two fish you'll never forget, your first and your biggest.

Guts, keep at it. I fished a fall and the next year to september before I caught one over 30". That was well over 100 fish ago. Just takes time on the water and time spent thinking and researching great places like this.
