Posts: 11 | The 2006 IMTT Season, kicked off with the rules and registration meeting being held at Comfort Suites in Pewaukee Friday June, 2nd. 39 teams entered the first event, the largest total to date! With 39 entrants, first place payout was a guaranteed $4000.00 and Big Fish money at $390.00. Teams where then drawn for “ease out” positions and selected for Sprecher Beer and Soda followed by the reading of the rules. At 6am Saturday, June 3rd, on Okauchee lake, the 39 boat field “eased-out” at The Hide Away. Teams we cautioned of the “no wake” areas and early morning speed limit, and thankfully there were no issues. The team of Gagliano and Curtis drew “first blood” with a 34.75” Musky and 7:42am. As the sun rose the temperatures did as well, with anglers seeing mid 80º’s. At 8:02 am a 44.5” monster came to the team of Boelkow and Stubbe from Midwestern Shooters Supply, that fish would end up being the first place and big fish winner. At 11:05 am Kuharske and Perry would guarantee a second place check worth $1000.00 catching a 38.5”. Lorbecki and Burns took third place and $500.00 at 2:20pm with their 37.25”. Besides 4 registered fish, we were happy to learn that Kevin “Musky Hopefull” Dunn (of team #6, Michel and Dunn) caught his first Musky during this tourny! Congrats Kevin! The awards banquet was held at Victoria’s in downtown Okauchee. Brats were grilled by the kind folks from Johnsonville, new trophies from Brookfield Awards were given to the first place team, and a ton of prizes, including Fig Rig Rods, a Frabill Power Catch net, lures from H20 Tackle, Slammer Tackle, Wood on the Water Tackle, S&M Lures, Muskie Catchers Lures and Jerry Carrol Custom Lures were handed out as well as a Cannon Downrigger, Keg-O-Que grill and a 20” color TV. The IMTT would like to thank all of its sponsors, but especially the following for hosting and sponsoring this first tourny of the 2006 season…. Dan Johnson of Fishing Fever & Dan Johnson’s Taxidermy, Victorias Pub and Grill in downtown Okauchee , Comfort Suites in Pewaukee and the Hide Away on Okauchee lake. Posts: 2865 Location: Brookfield, WI | Congratulations guys. Those Okauchee fish sure are purdy. Just wanted to say again that I had a blast. Played in quite a few golf tournaments through the years. After the tournaments are over, golfers never get together like that for a few beers, brats, and laughs. They're, well, different than fishermen. Kevin There may be another tournament or two in the plan. | ||
