Steve had been involved with Musky Nut for quite some time, so I suspect there were a few prototypes of the design they are making now out there last year. Either way, I have run the new one a couple times and like what I see.

Define "original".In the last year and a half, there has been LOTS variation.Bait was around before that. Those that have been around them awhile KNOW the differences."Old Perchy", hanging in my living room, had 30 fish in a season up to 51 1/2.I threw that particular one MORE because of 2 things.1.It runs(I can make it run)like a freak and 2.CONFIDENCE.The "new" Weagles run like Perchy. Not one or 2 in 10, EVERY ONE.Consistency.Now that's original.Buy 1000 blanks.200 Weagles from 1000, or 800 Weagles from 1000.Not a tough decision. As the Bald Man said, there are variances in wood.I hope everyone gets enough time on the water this season(yeah right) and that whatever you throw gets bit.Have confidence in what you throw and where you throw it and good things will happen."Wood Happens", now that's funny. Oh yeah, does anybody know the formula for "original" Coke or what EXACTLY Mickey D's puts in that Big Mac sauce? Steve

FSF,

More than enough. They are the BEST Weagles EVER made.

And I don't get a penny off them either and really don't like Baldy all that much.

Buy one. Best 25 bucks you will ever spend on a WTD Topwater.

maybe you guys could post what setups (rods) and terminal tackle types work BEST for you (baldy, SJ and the Loneliest white dude in Arizona).

personally, any rod works for me, but i've found over 7' is a big help with control about midway during the retrieve....80lb, 65lb line-no problems there

174-195-124lb straight wire leaders and some 80lb flouro-no problems, though i do like the action with the straight wire better

#4-6(or 7?) staylocks....didn't matter if i had a big swivel, little swivel or no swivel.

i think part of the problem was having the patience to figure out how it ran the first 20 minutes, after that, and after i got the cadence and proper slack line, mine ALL run fine.
the black and white
the ones sold at the pittsburgh show this year
and a few "rarities" that i've acquired.

if they dive consistently AND float and swoosh, all the better.

now those stupid wabulls...they're a whole nother story LOL....need time to learn them this year...on the list of things to do.

don't count your jailbaits out kiddies, those things DANCE! get 'em whilst they're hot!

if any of you remember me posting last fall .... which i'm sure you might .... i caught a stupid 30" walleye on a weagle too .... on the weed edge in front of nitchke's resort on lake minocqua ... never forget that night .... thought well, if these fish are that stupid and a walleye starts eating a musky bait ... i might as well call 'her a night and go have a beer ... so i did.

this of course was a couple weeks after a stupid 30" musky eats my weagle and a 52 comes out of the water and eats both that fish and the weagle .... ahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ... yeah, it's just another bait

mine are the ones that dive and don't work ... if you work them with steel leaders, it gets a right angle bend in it ... and it'll never "run" .... it's not supposed to is it?????? Cady, Jonesi, Baldy ... you mean you got weagles that actually work too????

I had my doubts, but I got to throw my mojo around a bit this weekend. I can't tell the difference... Jonesi, Baldy, you guys are doing it right!

You don't need a special "set-up" on these new ones. I was throwing one in the pool on 2 different rods (6'H and 7'6"H) and they worked fine. The old ones that I had didn't like to run with those rods so I don't think it's going to be a problem.

The new Mojo weagles are "nuts" on. Cast it out and start workin it. There's no waiting around for it to float back up to surface or slowing down your retrieve to get it back on top. My brother and I used both types this weekend and we both came to the same conclusion: The mojo weagles rock!
