I know , I know, you have been asked many times about your favorite colors or combos........well, let's say that you have over 200 fishing lure blanks out in your garage and you had to pick 20 color patterns to paint them. Easiest way would be to do 10 of them at a time.
There are givens....Cheeto, Sucker, Perch, Firetiger, Fire Leopard, Carp, Pearl w/and without stripes or scales..........
What would of your choices be? I know everybody has their favorite, so lets find out which ones that we all find appealing.
Feel free to post pictures of your favorites, whether it's hair, wood or plastic.
Just for curiosity sake.

I make a jerkbait, and one of my favorite colors, as far as looks, and not so much "Fish Caught", was one I called Sunset.

The top was Red, the middle was Orange, and the belly was Yellow. I then added Gold Scale to the sides. I liked it.

Like this one? The top is red, but you can't see it.

Yeah, that's close. My baits are long and thin, so the amount of each color was about equal. You gonna paint those three for me, or what? Did you get my e-mail, Jim?

Hey Beav....Nice baits dude!! I personally would come up with a pattern similar to the Webster Shad or something to the likes of all the southern boys fishing shad based waters. I know I've been throwing a ton of gliders/jerks this spring on the reserviors. Darkish back, white sides, charteuse belly, and a black dot. I'm sure you can come up with something more creative...but that's my 2 cents. Keep warm....

Here are some from two years ago. I'd need three of these painted. I haven't even carved them yet though, as I won't need them for a while yet.

I haven't seen anything you've done that was bad. I can't match black, and white. If I had to choose, how about black, and gold, or better yet, cardinal, and gold. They all look good Beaver. Good luck Doug

Thanks guys. I appreciate the input.
Purple....watch for the "Violette Perch" in the next couple of days.
Yes ther will be Pink, and Perch and Sucker and Crappie....maybe even Chrome Crappie.
Black/White- I love contrast too. The Barred Shad near the bottom of the pic on this page is basically black and white with some silever scales and some gold trim.
I picked up a color wheel yesterday, so I can try to really nail colors that compliment and contrast with each other.
There will be several pearls, including a White Pearl with a Cardinal W pinstriped on it in honor of our NCAA CHAMPION HOCKEY TEAM!!!! Go fish it in your favorite MN lake.......or not, the fish might head for cover.
Thanks for the input once again, and keep it coming.
Beav

Here is the Violette Perch. I'm heading out to the garage right now for a very slight dusting of chrome that will mute the purple just a hair, but will give it a little more flash.
PS..any of the lures in these pics are for sale.
e mail me if you are interested.
