Random quote: Tough crowd, muskie fishermen. Especially late at night. Seems that a toddy or two detaches reason from the average angler.

Some pics from the new paint shop.
None of the lures have been clear coated, so you can't see the new kameleon color changing finishes that I used.
Also none of them have been "chromed" or "chromed plus".
There's a pic of about half of the room, "the hot corner", and some of lures on the racks.
Feels good to be getting it done again.
Still no Perkas. Just Perkettes and some bodies that I picked up on e-bay.
Have another 100 Perkettes to sand and prime, and then I'll be doing all of those before I start doing Perkas.
Want to get the small stuff done for spring, than on to the bigger lures.
Beav

New camera....can't get the attachments small enough!!!!! 'll be back.

I have to find a way to shrink these files without losing the quality.
I think that I'll just wait until the lures are cleared and dry and then scan them in. You get a much better look.
At least you can see what half of the shop looks like.
Watch the buy/sell/trade board to see when they are ready for sale.
You can't even see the highlights on the Shad-type patterns, or the scales.
Some of these are going to have the chroming effects added to them, and some will go out just as they are....except they'll have 2 coats of Envirotex and hooks on them.
The bluegill shaped ones came from a guy on e-bay, so after I keep a few for myself, there might only be a dozen for sale.
I gotta practice with this camera.

Congrats Beav on moving in!
I am in the process of moving from my little sh!t hole 16'x20' to a new 100'x32'. I installed the white sheet metal and wired the 32'x40' workshop area where I will do the woodworking part of lurebuilding last friday and yesterday. I can't wait to get all my stuff moved in and start making sawdust! Such a clean and new working enviroment makes building these lures even more enjoyable than what it was.

That's just the painting area.
All the sanding and other dust-producing parts of the process are taking part in a different area of the garage.
My wife was glad to see the smelting pot finally leave the house. I have no idea how much lead I've melted in that house. Glad I was smart enough to hsve an exhaust fan in that area.
So far things are working out OK, but I'm still doing the top coating in the house where I have my rstricted area with the dehumidifier going.
Time to start the production line rolling.

Hey Beav,
Glad to see that you are up and running. Once you get caught up the "Chrome Team" will kick butt with new stuff.
I hit the river with a chrome and blue Saturday for about an hour ( was cold and windy) Just wanted to see how it does in stained water.
Looked real good. Have to get some ready for myself to fish with. Can't wait to nail a pig on the chrome.

I hear ya!!
I'm doing some regular colors in smaller sizes to get ready for spring, but I also have some hanging in phase 1 of the process so I'll be able to get some chromed in a couple of weeks.
The patterns that I was working on, are working out well so far. Now I'm just going to keep taking it a little farther every time that I do some. Who knows, maybe there is no limit where this can go if we do it right.
I'm heading to the basement right now. I have regular lures to E-Tex and 100 blanks to hit with the sander and install screw eyes.
It's rain/sleet and windier than the judges bench at a chilli cook-off. Good day to stay inside.
I'll post some pics of the ones that I get clear coated. You couldn't see the new color shifting patterns on the pictures that I posted. Very subtle violets in those pearl and silver lures that you can only see outside.
I'll get some more Perkas out to you this week. Send me an e-mail with your address and how many you want....yes, I lost it again.
