A while back there was talk of making a video about how muskies behave in their environment. I think it was to show that muskies do not destroy a lakes balance and eat every other fish in sight etc. if i am not mistaken it was going to be done somewhere in Minnesota? Was it just hopefull thinking or is it in progress? It sounded like great ammo for the knuckle head groups (no more muskies etc) that dont understand what the fish is about.

This video was put to together by the Brainerd Lakes Chapter of Muskies, Inc. with the help of the MN DNR. Ted Takasaki narrated it. And as of a month ago, it's finally complete! It's a nicely done piece about 12 minutes long. Someone else from the BLC will probably have more info about how it will be distributed and what the long term goals are of this video.

My understanding is that the video is a PR campaign that will be distributed to various lake associations. Sounds like a good first step in helping to expand the range throughout the state of MN.

It's been a long process but like Aaron said...it is complete! It is in the reproduction stage. We were told by the MN DNR that it would take them about 5 weeks to produce 1000 DVD copies. We are within 2 weeks of completion. Once we have the copies in our hands we will make an official statement.

We have viewed it and it's great. It doesn't present ideas, thoughts or agendas....it just flat out presents all the FACTS about muskies and the effect they have on other species in a lake that was stocked with muskies. This "educational tool" will be available to all Muskies Inc chapters, muskie clubs, interested lake associations, DNR officials and all other entities that would use it to help with stocking efforts nationwide.

Jeff,
Great!!!! I would love to get ahold (purchase) a copy. There is a private lake i am soon to be involved in that has a few people that grumble out the muskies in the lake eating all the bass and walleye. The video would greatly help.

The video will be in our hands by early to mid next week. The DNR confirmed that they were finishing up reproduction of 1000 copies. The video will be send out to every Muskies, Inc. chapter and to all the sponsors that were involved with the video. This video is an educational tool to help stocking efforts. If your interested in the video and have intentions of using it as a tool to help with stocking efforts or educating the general public in your area, shoot me an email and I'll further discuss it with you.
