Well, it's close now. Sand Hill Cranes flying all over southern WI, Geese coming north, and the promise that waters in Illinois, Indiana, and Iowa will be open in a couple weeks. Muskies beware, the Mid West is about to thaw...

The boat is charged, and almost ready. Oil change coming this weekend, and we'll be ready for da open water. Now I just need to get my new reels in so I have something to cast with.

I can't WAIT!!!!!

Unless my buddy at Fiberdome works extremely fast, spring is not allowed to get here until the middle of April!

Warm weather and no boat is not a good combination.

Its only 21ยบ down here this morning and I saw Geese flying south yesterday....we had spring in January, we're paying for it now. There's a little ways to go, but definately light at the end of the tunnel.

Norm, if you get down this way, you can always jump in with me. (just hope I don't do my chick magnet dance in the boat. Esoxlazer knows that one.)

Wow sucks to be you GMG . . . I am happy to report the conditions in Sioux Falls as mild, and no snow. So what if I have to drive 2 hours to catch a musky?

See you all in Eastern Cornland.

Talking about fishing is great but nothing beats actually being on the water, I to am going crazy in these dorms. I need open water and I need it NOW! Can't wait to lay the HAMMER DOWN, best feeling in the world!

How about tactics. On river systems like the Wisconsin do you hit the shallow bays and sloughs in the spring, hang out near the dams, or stay in the channel?

It's about time for 20 pound Mississippi River Carp on light tackle season.

Tuffy -

Good read. I'm familiar with many of the Pete tactics. That whitebass comment is right on. In fact in the heat of summer that is what I look for as forage base.

Is it any wonder that the eskimos have 18 different words for snow? How many of those words would they say in front of their mother? LOL.

Quit talking about it, the northern run should already be under the Du Bay dam.
