Anybody that can clue me in on a new one for casting will get one of my secret cave run maps with the good weedbeds actually drawn out in detail rather than the big X I put on the el cheapo Sponge Bob Payday Maps I have been sending out. This is equal to or better than the Cave Run Map for Fishing Out of the Left Side of the Boat, you know the one with the ancient runes on the front of it. All you have to do is give me the secret of how to wedge one out when the temps are going down and ice up is imminent. We may hit this situation 2-3 times a winter or may stay in it all winter.

It has to be a casting presentation. It has to get bites not follows.

(P.S.Don't tell Sponge his "namesake map" will only get you within 200 yards of the fish. I have him so excited about it that he has ordered 25 just for friends and family so he can impress them by showing them his name on the front cover, also got a bunch of those outing guys sucked in on one. [] )

My strategy for that time of year would be to cast slow moving jerkbaits/twitchbaits ( suspenders ) and if all they do for you is follows then you can convert them with creatures and dawgs. Try downsizing too if all you are getting follows.

You must remember that in mid 30s water temps fish are not going at rocket speed.[:sun:]

I can tell you want that map pretty pretty bad, but you will have to identify the exact bait for the bite here. Which would be your go to shallow casting bait right before the ice sets in? ie WHICH GLIDER????(you can whisper the response, aint nobody readin this one anyway)[;)]

shhhhhh don't tell anyone down there but it's called a blitzin shad, best glide bait I have used, made me get rid of my HR even. It can be worked really slow or fast on top or down there. Can also be reeling in if your tired.[:sun:]

the big silver and chartruce husky jerk on a bucher leader on 60lb tuff or power pro on your favorite GLASS rod using any thumb-bar garcia cause you'll be wearing fine itilian driving gloves and everyone else will be jealous of the ease by which you balance style and comfort while pulling in another 28 pounder in front of the In-Fisherman cameras who just happen to be nearby and idle cause even Stange's and Linder's stopped fishing to watch you

how's that?
