Subject: Draining/Prepping New Motor?

Brought the Honda home yesterday. They ran it at the dealer to show me all the bells and whistles. I got help carrying it to the basement. Heavy bugger. Say down and read the owners manual last night. They suggest draining the carb of gas since after 15 days the gas can star gumming up stuff. I am going to put Stabil in the portable tank (only 3.2 gal ) out in the shed. How can I get Stabil in the motors' system? I don't want to haul this thing back outside to prevent fumes from collecting in the basement, if I drain off the gas indoors? I really don't want to run it indoors to push the treated gas into the engine? Any quick fixes here? Thanks, wet-behind-the-ears.

I'd drain the carbs as you stated, then pump in the stabilized gas. The stabilized gas should hold up for the short time in storage.

Not sure how this might affect jets, but if the carb is full of stabilized gas, you should be fine.
