| I think I understand what rod power means but I don't understand the action. What would be the differance in a rod that was fast action vs medium or medium fast action, or slow action ect..,, |

Location: Mapleton,IL | Action determinds were the rod will bend a extra-fast action will bend up by the top. Fast action will bend in the upper 3/4 of the rod and a mod action will bend towards the middle of the rod. For a better explantion pick up a St Croix book or go to their web site the should have a chart. |

| That classification refers to how much tip vs backbone the rod has. A fast tip means that the tip section of the rod flexes while the bottom 2/3 of the rod is stiff. Medium action is a flex point nearer the center of the rod. All rods are rated that way, but each one is different. Some rod's 'fast" are another rod's "medium".
This is a very generic explanation.

Location: Elk River, Minnesota | So...On that note, which rods are best for which types of muskie baits? I would assume this is somewhat relative to the preference of the person, but in a general sense, what would you want in a Jerkbait, Crankbait, Bucktail, topwater?
