| HI, I'm thinking about a new boat this spring. If I decide to pull the trigger I'm thinking of getting a boat with a vinyl floor, I'm simply tired of the upkeep that goes along with carpet.
Does anyone have any experiences with vinyl floors? I'd be interested to any thoughts. Thanks and God bless.

Location: Rhinelander, Wisconsin | There's other options as well, including surface coated fiberglass and a rhino type coat. I've used vinyl, and it fades, looks bad pretty quickly, but is tough and lasts a long time. |

I am planning on getting a custom color of spray in bedlinner put in my boat this spring.
I put new carpet in my boat....a very lengthy process.....and it was junk in 4 years. |

Location: Angola, IN | I just put a new floor in my boat....along with stringers and transom.
On the topside of the 5/8" plywood floor, I put an industrial epoxy coating on it. They sell the kits at Menards, Lowe's, Home Depot. The kit is for sealing/coating concrete garage floors. It is a two part epoxy. Super-tough stuff.
I used a whole gallon on the floor in my 18' foot. I mixed up the gallon, and put the first coat on (just the coating) and it REALLY soaked in (great penetration)....and I put it on THICK. Then on the second coat, I mixed in the anti-skid compound and it really looks nice. The kit I got came with "sprinkles", doesn't add texture, but gives it that speckled look that lots of boat had when they were new in the 50-60's....which goes with my boat. It looks killer and I'm sure it's gonna hold up just fine!!!
