Location: Des Moines IA | I will soon be needing to invest in some hardwood. Specifically, Red Oak, Hard Rock Maple, and Poplar, for a new line of baits to be coming out hopefully this fall. Where do you get your wood? I am located in the Chicagoland area. I have an Owl hardwood real close by, but man are they expensive. Any other options?

Location: Il | There is a place in Lombard on St. Charles rd that sells nice wood. I cant think of the name though but during the summer they have a cart they push up in front with a bunch of wood on it and a sign that says 1/2 price. Maybe you could find a deal |

Location: Fishing the weeds | Try to contact a sawmill. It may take some searching as most of the time they don't advertise. You can get lots of different species of wood for a fraction of the cost and you won't have a supply problem. Pat |

| I have some 80 year old spindles from a stair banister when I remodeled my house. Thinking the density may make these useful for some type of lure if I should dabble in lure making in the future. What do you think |
